Real Estate Agent vs. Realtor®

Have you ever noticed that on some advertisements for homes or real estate that the agent has a big Realtor® by their name while some others don't?

That Realtor® isn't just a gimmick. It's a registered tradmark for real estate professionals who are members of the area Board of Realtors.

What does that mean to you? Maybe a lot! If you're a buyer, it might mean the difference between getting in to see the house you want to see or not. If you're selling - it's the difference between getting your property listed in the Multiple Listing Service for that area or not. You see, only Realtors® are allowed to enter, change or access the information in the MLS.

Also, members of the Board of Realtors have access to tools and training and are held to a specific standard of excellence that a regular real estate agent may not be. So, just because someone has a real estate license, that doesn't mean you're getting the most service you could.
